The Rail-Mounted Gantry Crane (RMG) is a highly specialized piece of heavy lifting equipment dedicated to efficiently loading, unloading, stacking, and transporting containers. Technical Features Driving Performance

RMGs utilize a bias-rail box girder structure. Manufacturers produce the main beam as a single, fully formed unit, ensuring a smooth, continuous camber curve. This robust design minimizes swaying and reduces the risk of wheel flange wear (crabbing), facilitating easier and more stable container alignment.

The traveling mechanism incorporates advanced technology, such as the spline hollow shaft three-in-one geared motor. This motor is lightweight and easy to disassemble, which significantly reduces maintenance costs.

These cranes feature an all-electric design, which meets the IE3 efficiency rating standard (IEC60034). This focus on electric power makes the RMG an energy-saving and environmentally friendly choice for terminal operators.

RMGs integrate multiple layers of safety protection to ensure secure operation, including:

  • Anti-lifting and anti-smashing systems to protect terminal trucks.
  • Electronic fences that define and restrict the working area.
  • Anti-bowling systems to prevent unintended impacts with container stacks.

The crane’s structure forms a highly stable gantry frame with two vertical columns and a crossbeam. Built with high-strength materials and a sturdy design, it offers a high load-bearing capacity and excellent wind resistance, making it suitable for long-term operation in complex environmental conditions.

With lifting capacities ranging from a few tons up to several hundred tons, RMGs handle large-scale material handling requirements. They offer a large span and lifting height, effectively covering extensive work areas and adapting to different site layouts.

The precision positioning system ensures accurate placement during both vertical lifting and horizontal movement. Furthermore, RMGs offer a high degree of customization. Operators can tailor the design based on specific site constraints, load requirements, and application needs.
